Established in 1970 in Finland, Lumene have spent the last 50 years sourcing the best ingredients derived from the freezing, peaceful landscape of the Arctic – one of the last unspoiled sanctuaries on earth. Every Lumene product contains pure Arctic spring water, which along with Finland’s fresh, clean air is one of the least polluted water sources in the world while also offering a pH naturally close to that of the skin’s surface, with the aim of avoiding any unnecessary disruption of the skin’s barrier. The Nordic region is of course renowned for its unique annual light cycle; during the lighter months, the region is drenched in 24 hours of intense sunlight. It’s during those brilliantly bright days that the source of Lumene’s key ingredients – namely tree saps, plants, berries, mushrooms and seeds from the region, are exposed to the exceptionally intense Arctic light, and not only surviving, but thriving in such conditions for thousands of years has made them potent antioxidants. While Lumene may be wild-crafted, they very much embrace science when it comes to extracting all of those ingredients and turning them into beautiful formulas. Nordic Lumene Nordic-C
Suitable for all skin types, especially if you are concerned about dullness/lack of radiance and want to brighten the appearance of your skin.
This beautifully textured cream works to brighten and nourish the skin overnight for a more radiant looking and glowing skin when you wake up. Containing vitamin C via Wild Arctic Cloudberry seed extract and essential fatty acids; omega 6, 3 and carotenoids via its sister ingredient Wild Arctic Cloudberry seed oil, this nourishes, hydrates, brightens and leaves you looking plump and revived. Like you had sleep, which in my case, is the aim. Apply after cleansing and treatment serums (if using) in the evenings. Can be used nightly with no contraindications.

Nordic Hydra
Suitable for dry and dehydrated skin, I would use this is an everyday moisturiser, especially in the current weather. This lush formula is specifically designed to comfort dry skin by forming a protective and moisture-locking film on the skin. The richer texture absorbs beautifully and leaves your skin intensely hydrated and soft. This Balm is in an almond oil base but also contains the Organic Nordic birch sap, slow-release technology and hyaluronic acid, hydrating and nourishing your skin continuously. Apply as your last stage before SPF in the morning, and in the evenings after cleansing and treatment serums. Can be used twice a day with no contraindications.

Arctic Hydra Care
OK this is the big hitter. If your skin has really suffered through lockdown, masks and the change of weather, and it feels sore, tight and stings, this is for you. Equally, if you just have a genetically dry skin and need constant enriching products, this is wicked. It’s thick, luxurious and balm-like, without being cloying, sticky or greasy. A wonderfully put together formula. Apply twice a day or as often as needed throughout the day if skin is really parched. There are no contraindications, and this formula is fragrance free.
