How does it smell?
Of camphor, quite strongly, although it does dissipate fairly quickly.
How do you use it?
Apply anywhere where you're dry, as a moisturiser.
Can it be taken around the eyes?
I wouldn't.
Best for winter or summer?
I would assume winter, unless you are perpetually dry.
How long did I test it for?
I don't use it that often, it's been around for years.
How much is it? /Size/Approximate cost per usage?
£13.50/£6.50 for 70g/33g.
Works well with?
Anything as long as this goes on last.
What’s the website like?
Really basic, and only US facing, but they have a great sampling policy and you can return it if you don't like it.
How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?
The distribution is random and sporadic. It's sold out on SpaceNK, seems to be freely available on Amazon (but not officially) and lists Whole Foods as a distributor which I find odd, as my understanding is that they refuse to stock anything containing parabens..
What’s good about it?
There's no doubt this moisturises the skin. It's glycerin based and contains licorice extract to help soothe, but I sense that if this was used on an extremely rosacea-prone skin, or post application of retin-A, that it would sting due to the camphor. I would still grab it if I was going out into the freezing cold and wanted to protect my cheeks etc..
What’s not so good about it?
The camphor seems unnecessary and makes me think that the original formula must really smell, not uncommon, most formulas smell, but I almost prefer it that way when the product is primarily being used to calm and soothe the skin. You tolerate it and psychologically think 'It must be working! It smells of feet!'. ;)
Would I purchase/repurchase?
Probably not.
Do you need it?
I think there are better options out there.
