What is Skin Boosting?

‘Skin boosting’ is a concept used in skincare formulations whereby ingredients are added and chosen to optimise the functionality of the skin by boosting the skin’s own natural processes. For example, a moisturiser formula may contain ingredients that boost the skin’s own synthesis of key components of a healthy skin barrier. This is something we carry forward with all our formulations at Skin Rocks.

The Amplifier

The concept of skin boosting is used throughout the Skin Rocks skincare range. However, our NPD team took this concept one step further when it came to The Amplifier – our performance-enhancing essence.

The Amplifier is much more than a hydrating essence – it is a performance-enhancing essence that also works as a brilliant hydrator. Formulated with innovative actives, each selected to enhance the efficacy of a specific skincare ingredient, this product is clinically proven to amplify the effects of other skincare products* and helps to prepare the skin for the rest of your routine. The skin-boosting concept has been taken a step further here to not only boost the natural functionality of the skin, but also to boost further actives that are applied to the skin after the essence, hence the name ‘The Amplifier’.

How Does it Work?

Vitamin A, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, peptides and antioxidants are some of the most commonly used skincare ingredients when it comes to active formulations. So, we knew that if The Amplifier helped to enhance the performance of these key actives, it would cover a wide range of active products – and not just products from Skin Rocks – The Amplifier will help to enhance the performance of all products with these ingredients.

• NovoRetinTM - The skin naturally produces retinoic acid, but enzymes break it down quickly. NovoRetinTM inhibits the degradation of these enzymes, helping to preserve retinoic acid levels in the skin.

• Algae Extract - Has similar water-binding properties to hyaluronic acid, working synergistically with it and also promoting the skin’s natural synthesis of HA.

* Sodium Polyglutamate
Both outperforms and stabilises hyaluronic acid by preventing its breakdown on the skin.

• Guava Leaf Extract – By targeting a complementary pathway to peptides and other anti-ageing actives, this produces a ‘stacking’ effect when combined, as the combined effects of guava leaf extract with other actives (such as peptides) are greater than those actives alone.

• Collagen Fragment - Plays a complementary role to vitamin C in collagen production by helping to support both the quantity and quality of collagen produced.

• Super Plum Blend - Has a strong free radical scavenging effect, helping to protect additional antioxidants added to the skin from degradation, therefore increasing their activity.
