The Control Acid works by targeting the root cause of congestion, preventing it before it occurs. Polylysine, lemon myrtle and niacinamide work together to regulate oil production whilst salicylic acid exfoliates the pore lining, decongesting the skin. Oligopeptide-10 helps to boost the efficacy of salicylic acid, maximising results.

How to use
Use in either the AM or PM, up to 3 times a week. After cleansing, dampen a cotton pad with the toner and sweep over a clean, dry face. Avoid eye area. Follow with the rest of your routine and use sun protection during the day.
AM routine example: The Cream Cleanser, The Control Acid, The Moisturiser and SPF.
PM routine example: The Cream Cleanser (double cleanse), The Control Acid, The Support Oil and The Moisturiser.
You can use The Control Acid in the AM or PM (not both). However, you may wish to reserve exfoliation steps for the PM to avoid immediate sun exposure. Remember to always wear sun protection after using acids, as your skin’s sensitivity to sun damage can become heightened.
No, you do not need to use both acids in a single routine. Please choose the formula best suited to your skin’s needs.

The Control Acid is our 2% Salicylic Acid + Polylysine Exfoliating Acid Toner that has been specifically developed for oily, congested and/or breakout-prone skin. The Gentle Acid is our AHA + PHA Exfoliating Acid Toner, which is suitable for all skin types.
Salicylic acid: Decongests the skin/unclogs pores and improves skin texture, promoting smoother, clearer skin.
Polylysine and lemon myrtle: Regulate sebum production whilst maintaining the quality of the skin’s natural oils, helping to protect the skin barrier and minimise shine.
Oligopeptide-10: Works synergistically with salicylic acid to boost its efficacy.
Niacinamide: Regulates the production of sebum (oil) on the skin, in turn reducing the appearance of pores and improving skin texture. Minimises the appearance of redness whilst supporting the skin barrier.
Panthenol and glycerin: Skin-soothing and hydration-boosting ingredients that complement salicylic acid, minimising potential irritation.
Short for beta-hydroxy acid, a BHA is a type of oil-soluble exfoliating acid that helps to exfoliate and decongest the skin and is therefore helpful for those who are breakout-prone. The only BHA used in skincare is salicylic acid.
Polylysine is a polymer of the essential amino acid lysine, which is a large structure consisting of multiple lysine molecules. This powerful ingredient is great for oily/breakout-prone skin, as it helps to reduce inflammation and sebum (oil) production, in turn helping to prevent pores from becoming clogged and targeting the root cause of congestion before it occurs.
