HYDRATING MASKS - WINTER SKIN

HYDRATING MASKS - WINTER SKIN

Keeping to the theme of winter and potentially parched skin - some hydration masks that do more than just give you a temporary boost of water to the skin. The masks pictured above carry a little more oomph and leave a longer-lasting impression. Josh Rosebrook Advanced Hydration Mask - http://bit.ly/2RYe5hd What's not to love about this brand? Josh uses only the best quality ingredients throughout his entire line, and this is one of the latest additions to his range. The Advanced Hydration Mask is designed to lock in moisture, plump, condition, and improve skin circulation to help protect and support a healthy dermal function. Kate Somerville Nourish HydraGel Mask - no longer available (helpful, I know) This now sold out mask was designed to boost the water levels in the skin for 24 hours. It glided over any serum/moisturiser with ease and stayed on the skin, something most of these have in common. I sense the Wrinkle Warrior was brought in to semi-replace it, but I'm still asked about it - and I still have some left, so I'm including it here! Mahalo Hydrating Mask - http://bit.ly/2QuijRc This is a treat for your face and is designed to brighten, hydrate and stimulate the skin. Slightly more of an in-depth treatment than the others, leave this on for a good 15 minutes and then rinse off. Rinsing this one actually helps it activate, so this one is slightly different to the others. Pura Overnight Watermelon Mask - pura.com Another slightly different take, this one you sleep in. I think I bought this last year at The Detox Market in LA, but they're not listed anymore. This is creamier, smells like heaven and is a good one for travel as it absorbs like a cream rather than leave your skin shiny like some of the others. Sisley Express Flower Gel Hydrating and Toning Mask - http://bit.ly/2RZjX9R OK I always err on the side of caution when recommending Sisley products because I recognise that they are price-prohibitive for a lot of people. These two masks however are lush, so if you can afford them without sweating then go for it. If not, don't stress. Spend your money on your serum instead. The Express Flower Gel is my personal favourite of the two, as it hydrates immediately, to the point of being pretty much instantly absorbed in my face. This is spendy, but brilliant. Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask - http://bit.ly/2QykcMv This is the long-term favourite of beauty editors everywhere, and understandably. Creamier than its Flower Gel counterpart, this is one to look at if you are slightly older and need more of an oil and water mix as opposed to straight up hyaluronic acid. I would never wash this off. What a waste! Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Pink Plumping Mask - http://bit.ly/2SJ90JC This one is three different sizes of hyaluronic acid to plump as much as possible. Used 3 or so times a week, it keeps hydration levels up for skins that are moisture-challenged. (<--Totally made up term..but you get my drift) Peter Thomas Roth Blue Marine Algae Intense Hydrating Mask - http://bit.ly/2Quorc8 PTR has made somewhat of a name for themselves (himself) in the mask world, selling a ton of sets like this to mask lovers everywhere. I personally would sleep in this one, the softening effect is lush. SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Masque - http://bit.ly/2CiNCp2 So this bad boy has been a staple of mine (and pretty much everyone else's in the industry) for years and with good reason. SkinCeuticals are a major player in the cosmeceutical world, and I don't use that term freely, to me it means science, and a devotion to what is in a product as opposed to what is not. This mask is simply brilliant. That is all. Like 80s metal bands, it's hard to find a SkinCeuticals product that I don't like.
