One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil + Makeup Remover
Describe the brand/product in three words.
Organic, collaboration, American.
What type of cleanser is it?
Oil
Who is it for?
Anyone, but they target it specifically at dry/dehydrated.
What’s in it?
What's not in it?
Mineral oil, 'nasties', the usual ingredients not welcome in organic products.
Possibly acne/allergy/troubling for some ingredients?
Fragrance - to which the brand say: Our natural fragrance is free of phthalates, parabens, sulfates, chemical sunscreens, petrochemicals, formaldehyde donors, peg’s, dea/tea and 1,4 dioxanes.
Suitable for pregnancy?
Yes
Natural? Organic? Man made? Vegan?
Organic - not vegan due to beeswax.
Tested on animals in home country/EU/sold in territories that advocate testing?
No/No - has cruelty free badge.
How does it smell?
Really nice, but not overpowering. Slightly sweet, not floral, and not lavender, thankfully.
How do you use it?
For makeup removal, apply one pump into the palm of your hand, therapist swipe, get it straight onto dry skin and start massaging! It can be emulsified, but I find it works better applied to dry skin, massaged, and then removed with a flannel as usual. If you are an emulsifying fan, you will like this.
If you're not wearing makeup, half a pump is sufficient.
First cleanse/second cleanse or AM cleanse?
All of the above. Even though I would normally use this as a second or AM cleanse, I found myself also using it to remove makeup.
Best for winter or summer?
Either.
Does it remove waterproof eye makeup?
Yes.
How long did I test it for?
A month.
How much is it? /Size/Approximate cost per usage?
$42.00 for 120ml/4ozs/
What’s the website like?
Good. Informational and lists full ingredients without ten clicks.
How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?
Limited. I picked it up in The Detox Market, but it would be great if it was in bigger retailers so that more people could get their hands on it.
What’s good about it?
I hadn't heard of the brand or Elizabeth Dehn until I bought this. Possibly due to their distribution, which is limited to the US and Canada at the moment. Their isn't a detailed history of the brand on the website, but the links to Elizabeth Dehn show that she founded her website Beauty Bets in 2009 and has nearly 5.4 million Pinterest followers (something that sent me down the Pinterest rabbit-hole when researching this!)
I am really enjoying this cleanser. I picked it up in The Detox Market along with the Vitamin D Spray and both are good.
This removes all makeup with ease, causes no redness or irritation and leaves the skin really soft and smooth. It's a small detail, but the inclusion of the little safety clip actually works and means that you can travel with it of you want to. It holds firm, and shouldn't be discarded upon opening.
The oil is rich but not clogging, and not sticky at all. It's a pleasure to use and I reach for it often.
What’s not so good about it?
Honestly I haven't found anything bad about this product. I'd like a bigger size.
Would I purchase/repurchase?
Yes. In a heartbeat.
Do you need it?
Yes.
