Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder

If this brow product were a football team it would be LFC. If it was a musician it would be a tattooed guitarist. And if it were a food group, it would be carbs. White carbs. With butter. And salt.

I spend more time doing my brows than my eyes. I very rarely wear eyeshadow these days, and when I do, it's expertly applied by someone far, far better at it than me (although I do love a shiny-glittery ensemble across the lid on occasion). I prefer natural brows, not Instagram brows, i.e. my brows are sisters, not twins, but each to their own.

But brows: firstly, a shout-out to Mum who forbade over-plucking, based on her experience from the 60s, when women were basically bald above the eye. So I do have something to work with, although I did go a little far in the 90s and have spent the time since growing them in a painstaking fashion as if I had two bloody orchids sitting up there.

I have a multitude of brow products that I like, but very few that I love. This is my current favourite. The Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder is a really fine, loose pigmented powder with a liner applicator. I am obsessed.
It literally allows you to fill in any patches or draw a fine line, effortlessly. I'm onto my second bottle and this time I bought two to better colour match. Be warned, these come up dark. I used Taupe at first, and this time went for Taupe and Blonde, as my hair went lighter and the Taupe was making my brows look too uniformed and a tad too dark. If in doubt, always go lighter. Brows that are too dark are more ageing than most things.
One of these lasted me about 6 weeks or so, using it maybe 4/5 times a week.
I cannot recommend this highly enough. If you have really fine brows and need a lot of filling in, you may prefer pencils for that, followed up with this to make them look more natural, but if you have brows that just need some support, and the odd bald patch hiding *looks to camera*, this is spectacular.

Smashbox Brow Tech Shaping Powder is £16.50 from Smashbox.co.uk and $25.00 from Sephora.com

*I will be posting about more of my makeup, so if you have any requests give me a shout, but I cannot believe that this is the first time I have typed the 'brows' label on this blog.
