STRIVECTIN DAILY REVEAL EXFOLIATING PADS | AD

I have really fallen hard for StriVectin this year. I’ve used most of the range, from eyes to serums to moisturisers, so when they release an acid, you know I’m going to be at the front of the queue. Blending science and proven ingredients, all including their patented NIA-114, their solid, efficacious products are now firmly in my skincare wardrobe. So their Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads: let’s dive deeper. Who are they for? Aqua (Water, Eau), Pentylene Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Azelaic Acid, Glycereth-7 Triacetate, Alcohol Denat., Sodium Hydroxide, Polysorbate 20, Glycereth-18 Ethylhexanoate, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Dipropylene Glycol, Tranexamic Acid, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Gluconolactone, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Myristyl Nicotinate, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Spiraea Ulmaria Extract, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Adenosine, Asiaticoside, Ethoxydiglycol, Lactobacillus Ferment, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Propanediol, Glycereth-18, Ethylhexylglycerin, Calcium Gluconate, t-Butyl Alcohol, Citric Acid, Limonene, Sodium Carbonate, Denatonium Benzoate, Sodium Chloride, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate What are the key acids? Always use your SPF but be especially attentive when you’re using acids. What skins are they best for? All skin types, especially suited to combination, pigmented or skins showing signs of ageing that you do not like. How strong do they feel on the skin? 7/8 out of 10. Stronger if you are new to acids. Suitable for pregnancy/breastfeeding? The brand say: 'There are no known contraindications associated with the use of our products. I’m really helping, aren’t I? How do you use them? After cleansing, take the pad and wipe it across the face starting at the forehead and moving side to side across the face, down towards the chin. Flip the pad over and go over the face again with the other side. Can they be taken around the eyes? Avoid the eye area. Up to the orbital bone. Best for winter or summer? Year-round. How long did I test them for? I’ve had them for a few months. How much are they?/Size/Approximate cost per usage? £39.00 for 60 pads. 0.65p a pad. One jar will last you at least two months. Works well with? Brilliant for prepping the skin for all serums and treatment products that follow them. What’s the website like? Great. Full ingredients listed, 15% offer when you sign up to it, and full of information. What’s good about them? This is a brilliant acid product, with a sophisticated formula. Non-drying, it really helps the follow-up products to absorb. Containing 4 types of acid: AHA, BHA, PHA and TXA. They breakdown as the following: AHA – glycolic acid to deeply exfoliate and smooth and correct signs of ageing, azelaic to target redness that comes with breakouts BHA - liphydroxy acid and willowbark extract help to clarity the skin PHA – gluconolactone to target skin tone and texture while helping with hydration TXA – tranexamic acid helps to prevent irritation that can lead to hyperpigmentation Additionally, StriVectin have utilised all of the synthesised actives from Gotu Kola, asiaticoside, madecassoside, asiatic and madecassic acid, together known as centellosides, known for their antioxidant and wound healing properties, to ensure that the active part of the pads, being the acids, are not overpowering or drying to the skin. When used regularly you can expect your skin to feel smoother and softer and look brighter. Your pores will look less pronounced and like they’ve chilled out. You do not need to over-moisturise to compensate for the potentially drying ingredients always found in acids. This leaves your skin glowing, not tight and dry. Everything applied afterwards absorbs wonderfully and I find that you can use less serum and moisturiser as a result. What’s not so good about them? Nothing. It’s a genuinely great acid. They’re definitely on the stronger side, so if you are sensitive, patch test, as you should always. Would I purchase/repurchase? Yes. You need these if: You are on the market for an acid, are looking to step up your acid game, or have dull, combination or older skin. You don’t need these if: You have 20 different acids already. Step away. Get a grip.
