What is it?

The new and improved Multi-Protection Lotion SPF 50+ PA++++ from The Body Shop.

Why?

You may remember back in April 2019, on my very first appearance on This Morning, I was talking about SPF and demo’d The Body Shop’s (then) SPF50 Essence on the presenters. When I said ‘feel this texture, it literally disappears…’ The camera cut to Holly Willoughby who uttered the words ‘it really does!..’ and that my friends, was that. According to the Freaks Group, they couldn’t find it anywhere after that. This is a new addition to the Skin Defence range.

How?

This is a more sophisticated formula, offering a higher level of protection. They’ve beefed up the SPF content, it’s now a broad spectrum SPF50+, and the formula also helps protect skin against daily aggressors. Vitamin C and red algae give you a lovely glow, and the addition of marula oil gives the formula a smoother, softer consistency.

You needn’t worry that the higher level of protection has affected the texture and absorption rate. It hasn’t. It’s still easy to apply, readily absorbed and leaves no sticky residue. It’s moisturising, softening and feels very comfortable on the skin. There are 2 types of UV rays that you need to be wary of; UVA and UVB.

UVA accounts for 95% of the UV radiation hitting the earth. This causes skin damage as it penetrates through glass and clouds and plays a major part in skin ageing and wrinkles.
UVB causes damage to the top layer of the skin and can burn unprotected skin in as little as 15 minutes.

With SPF50+ PA++++ and antioxidants, the formula works as a whole to protect not only against UVA and UVB, including indoor and outdoor pollution. This new Lotion leaves an invisible film on the skin that plays nicely with makeup. The chemical sunscreen works to absorb and reflect the UV rays which helps to prevent signs of damage including premature ageing. Suitable for all skins. Vegan. Cruelty-free.
