I’ve been blogging for 11 years in April, and in that time I have met quite a few fragrance writers/experts who speak of perfume/fragrance/smellies in a way that is so literal that you almost smell it through your screen. Thomas Dunckley and Nick Gilbert are two of those writers.
So imagine my joy when I heard they had teamed up with Pia Long, a fellow writer and perfumer, to create a range of beautiful, unique candles that are genuinely different and weird and fun and luxury and lush.
Reader: I did something I never do ‘smell unsmelled’. I bought them. They do not disappoint.
So allow me to give my online friends an absolute open shameless plug and use their own words to describe their work. Let’s face it: ‘it smells lush’ from me tells you nothing.
‘We have spent years developing our debut collection of scented candles, working day and night to make sure that they are glitzy AF. That work is now done, and we are super excited to be able to present to you our brand Boujee Bougies.
Our debut collection consists of five unique scented candles. Each is available in two sizes (60g and 220g) and features a beautiful, high-quality fragrance composed by our in-house perfumer and compounded in Grasse, France.
We use a luxury blend of wax that is 100% natural and package our candles in striking black, internally coated glass. Attention to detail and flamboyance really is our thing; you may have sensed that.
Available now priced £55.00 and £25.00 from: https://boujeebougies.com

Cuir Culture: Old books, worn jackets, pup masks.

Patchouli, Cedarwood, Suede
Leather, Animalic Notes, Pup Masks, Books

Queen Jam: tart berries, purple roses, a flash of green
Queen Jam is a Finnish conserve made from raspberries and bilberries. It is divinely delicious and it also has a beautiful name so you probably know where this is going: yes, we made a candle that is just as sticky, juicy, tart and fresh as this decadent treat.
Notes: Bergamot, Cassis, Blueberry, Rose, Raspberry Leaf, Iris, Patchouli, Myrrh.
CH says:
This is actually my favourite one. It smells like someone made sweet jam in a florist that was full to the brim and in full bloom. I love it. LOVE.
