IT COSMETICS - CONFIDENCE IN A CLEANSER

IT COSMETICS - CONFIDENCE IN A CLEANSER

What type of cleanser is it?

It's a runny gel consistency. It's called a 'skin-transforming hydrating cleansing serum'. 'A revolutionary one-step skincare solution to cleanse and hydrate while leaving skin feeling soft and refreshed.'

Who is it for?

It says 'multiple skin types' and especially for dry, dull, fine lines and wrinkles. But that wouldn't be my advice.

What’s in it?

What's not in it?

Not much. Clearly. This is a classic example of a brand (usually a brand made in the US) throwing as much as possible into the mix so that it can be written on the label. Parabens, sulfates.

Possibly acne/allergy/troubling for some ingredients?

Essential oils

Suitable for pregnancy?

Yes

Natural? Organic? Man made? Vegan?

Man made

Tested on animals in home country/EU/sold in territories that advocate testing?

No/No/No

How does it smell?

Citrus

How do you use it?

Apply onto skin, wet or dry, massage through, remove with flannel.

First cleanse/second cleanse or AM cleanse?

Although it says it removes makeup, this stung my eyes so I would say second cleanser or AM cleanse.

Best for winter or summer?

Maybe summer or when/if you're really oily.

Does it remove waterproof eye makeup?

It says 'Yes' but no.

How long did I test it for?

Not long. It wasn't for me.

How much is it? /Size?

£24.00 for 148ml.

What’s the website like?

Fine. Ingredients listed, easy to use.

How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?

Online, QVC, Selfridges in the UK, Sephora and Ulta in the USA.

What’s good about it?

Not much.

What’s not so good about it?

It's called 'Skin-Transforming Hydrating Cleansing Serum' and I honestly expected to love it. But I didn't. I found it drying and it left my skin tight and definitely not moisturised as described. To say this could be a one-stop skincare solution is a nonsense to my mind. Also: if you want to buy in to a cleanser with ingredients usually reserved for a serum and don't see the problem with immediately washing them all off, crack on. Don't get me wrong, I use some cleansers (mine included) with technology designed to help you retain moisture on the skin when removing, but this is claiming it acts like an anti-ageing serum and contains niacinamide, collagen and their 'super-ceramide complex' called 'Anti-Aging Armour Rejuvenating Concentrate™'. I don't know what that is, but my armour was not rejuvenated. It was dry and dehydrated.

Would I purchase/repurchase?

No

Do you need it?

No
