What’s the website like?

Hit and miss. Not enough product info, the home page is a little like Into The Gloss, with less useful info. On the plus side, they do feature Instagrams from customers that also mention other brands, something a lot of other brands refuse to do. drjart.com

How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?

Sephora in the US, not so clear where else in the world, the website lists countries, but doesn't have the search capability.

What’s good about it?

Everything. I love this cream. So much so that I subsequently bought the entire range. And two back-ups of the cream.

Ceramides occur naturally in our skin, but along with good bladder control and your natural hair colour, your ability to retain them decreases as you age. Brands such as Elizabeth Arden have been using ceramides for years, and this range from Dr. Jart+ is very welcome.

Ceramides are necessary for among other things, water retention, so the first thing you'll notice when you are lacking in them is that your skin is dull, dehydrated and has lack of tone. Therefore, when you use products containing them, you'll immediately notice an improvement in the overall tone and texture of your skin. The cream works well after retinols, acids, anti-aging serums and on its own. The texture is reassuringly thick, but the effect on the skin is not. It's not sticky, it's not greasy, it doesn't 'roll'. I'm currently using it on the kids as an after-sun, and they let me apply it with no complaints, which means there is no 'sting' and no 'smell'. It absorbs brilliantly.

No matter what I am testing, this has stayed permanently on my dressing table since I bought it, hence the Hall of Fame positioning.

What’s not so good about it?

Not much. I genuinely love it.

Would I purchase/repurchase?

Already have. Bought the entire range.

Do you need it?

Pretty much. If you're particularly oily, try the lighter variations such as the Ceramidin Liquid or the Ceramidin Gel Cream.
