'fresh', it's not fragranced, it's subtle

How do you use it?

'Smooth a thick layer on to moist skin, avoiding eye area. Relax for 20 minutes, then rinse well with lukewarm water and follow with Soothing Face Mist and Priming Moisturizer.' Personally I would lightly remove any remnants as opposed to washing it off, but I'm dehydrated, so you do you.

Can it be taken around the eyes?

It says no, but I did it without thinking and it was fine.

Best for winter or summer?

Either. There are benefits to hydrating products in any season.

How long did I test it for?

I've had it for a few months.

$22 for 3fl oz or approx 89mls

Works well with?

A good spritz underneath doesn't go amiss, and perhaps a slightly more clay-based mask used beforehand.

How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?

Limited to glossier.com and the showroom in NYC.

What’s good about it?

It feels lovely on the skin, the formula looks and applies like a slightly runny Betty Crocker cake icing, and that's a compliment. I've tried it over and under other products and it seems to work best over a spritz, and then left to absorb. Used on top of products, it becomes a little sticky, which is fair enough, the brand make no claims that it can be used that way, I just like to try a lot of variables. I didn't get any breakouts from the shea, it seems to be fairly 'thin'.

What’s not so good about it?

It's heavily siliconed, so talk of it being 'oxygenating' are a tad far-fetched. It would have to get through shea, silicone and almond oil for starters. And there's so little licorice and lemon in it that claiming they are brightening is also a stretch.

Would I repurchase?

Probably not, but only because I have too many hydrating masks to trial. I'm sure brand loyalists would repurchase. It's a similar formula to a lot more expensive brands making bigger claims, and it's only $22.00.

Do you need it?

Depends how easily you can buy it, if it's within your budget, and how badly you need a hydrating mask.
