KATE SOMERVILLE DELIKATE RECOVERY RANGE | AD

I can't remember the last time I had as many questions about a new launch as I have experienced with Kate Somerville's DeliKate.

The DeliKate Collection is now available in the UK and is designed with sensitised skin in mind. Kate describes it as 'putting out the fire'. Originally designed to support her clients post-treatment, for example after in-clinic peels, DeliKate helps stressed, sensitised skin by calming it down, reducing visible redness and helping to restore the skin barrier.

My most frequently asked question related to the differences between Goat Milk and DeliKate: Goat Milk is deeply nourishing and moisturising, while DeliKate is really about calming and soothing the skin and restoring the skin barrier. Goat Milk is oiling the engine and putting a cashmere jumper on. (Dry, dehydrated, flaky, red. Not particularly inflamed or sore.) DeliKate is putting the fire out, like an SOS recovery system for stressed, sensitised skin. (Red, angry, inflamed, sore, dry, dehydrated, combination, oily, tight.) I know that a lot of you wanted more details on DeliKate so a brief overview:

Key Ingredients across the range include:

• Ginger Root Extract helps to reduce visible redness.
• Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit Extract works to calm the skin.
• Peptide Complex and three Ceramides to calm, reduce the redness and support the skin barrier.
• Cucumber Seed Oil calms and soothes skin.Soybean Complex works to soothe redness and inflammation.
• Amino Acid Derivative assists in restoring skin's protective barrier.

There are no contraindications for this range. It's suitable for all skins, ages, pregnancy, and skins in treatment such as chemo, or those with lupus rash etc. Cruelty free. Fragrance free. The line does not contain phthalates, sulfates, mineral oils or parabens but I share that with you only in case you have a genuine allergy to any of them. Full inci list at the end of the post.

DeliKate Soothing Cleanser:

The Soothing Cleanser is perfect for gently washing your face when it is literally sore to the touch. I apply to dry skin, massage in, damp a little, massage more, and then remove with a flannel. Suitable for all skins and as a first or second cleanse.

• Helps promote and support a healthy skin barrier (this contains all the ceramides - people with an inflamed skin tend to take their time when cleansing, and so this will be on the skin for a little longer than normal cleansers)

DeliKate Recovery Serum:

Born out of Kate’s Skin Health Experts Clinic to soothe post-treatment irritation, this is a lightweight, fast-absorbing serum that helps to immediately soothe stressed or sensitised skin. It cools it down, rehydrates it and takes any tightness away. You can apply it after cleansing or misting, and it works well either on its own, under the DeliKate moisturiser or under your current moisturiser. Use twice a day, as often as you need.

DeliKate Recovery Cream: DeliKate Recovery Cream is a lightweight, calming cream and was made not only to soothe sensitised and irritated skin, relieve tightness caused by dry skin and calm visible redness, but this is the powerhouse for helping to restore the protective skin barrier. The Recovery Cream can be used as a daily moisturiser, night cream, or as relief for post-skincare treatment irritation. Great for soothing the irritation that can arise from using tret or stronger retinoids, and can be layered repeatedly with the serum throughout the day without pilling or getting sticky. I've used it regularly since I was given lab samples of it almost a year ago. I am obsessed.
