La Belle Lune Organic Skin

La Belle Lune Organic Skin

Describe the brand in three words.

Small. English. Goth (not really but I couldn't resist) :)

Who is it for?

Anyone with skin.

Essential oils Suitable for pregnancy/breastfeeding?

Yes

Natural? Organic? Man made? Vegan?

Organic/vegan

Tested on animals in home country/EU/sold in territories that require testing?

No/No/No

How does it smell?

Like Jesus floated down and applied it to your face himself. If that description is unhelpful, it smells like the best lavender/frankincense/rosemary blend of joy. And speaking as someone who as a rule, doesn't like lavender, it's beautiful.

How do you use it?

*Use 1-3 pumps at night when the Stars are shining and the Moon is bright. Massage onto a cleansed face, neck and chest and let the Magic begin...* At night basically. Although I use it at the weekends when I know I'm not leaving the house and just want some TLC for my skin.

Can it be taken around the eyes?

Yes, orbital bone

Best for winter or summer?

Either, it's not heavy.

How long did I test it for?

A few weeks, on and off.

How much is it? /Size/Approximate cost per usage?

£46.00 for 20ml

Works well with?

For me, this has been great for using post-retinoids. It's softening and calming but doesn't appear to have any negative effects on the vitamin A. Works well on its own or with any mosturiser I've tried thus far.

What’s the website like?

Good. Has all the information and ingredients listed and is transactional. I'd like more pictures of the founder, but I always like a story. :)

How’s the distribution? Available freely or limited?

Limited. In Content Beauty and their own website. Well done Imelda for snapping them up.

Do retailers need to get on board?

Yes, they're behind as always. This should have been grabbed up by everyone upon release. What’s good about it?

I love it when I use something for the first time and get a result. I love it even more when it happens after every usage. I've been doing some hardcore testing of individual products in the last few months, including Differin (review coming) and retinoids. This oil has left my skin like silk in the mornings and noticeably plumper and less dull. Rosehip, chia seed, sea buckthorn, avocado, plus others combine to cover pretty much every sign of ageing on the skin, and genuinely leaves it with a glow. Add the reasonable price into the mixture and you get...

Every time I post about an oil product I get comments from dissenters saying “OMG you could easily make this yourself for two quid.’ Well no, actually, you couldn’t. The bottles alone cost more than that.
The oils need to be of the highest quality, and organic and cold-pressed aren’t that cheap. The formula has to have just the right amount of carrier oils or it’s too heavy, too many essential oils and it becomes as irritating as Jimmy Fallon’s fake laugh – and the packaging alone costs a fortune. Miron glass are on to a winner. They hold the patents and trademarks for the bottles used by all the high-end oils and the glass is proven to prolong potency and shelf life, hence the popularity of brands wanting to minimise the use of preservatives in their products.

What’s not so good about it?
Nothing. Well, I haven’t found anything yet.

Would I purchase/repurchase?
In a heartbeat.

Do you need it?
If you like a facial oil/serum and have previously been unable to indulge in something luxurious because of the pricing, yes. It stands up to the more expensive ones admirably.
