When I first wrote about Neal’s Yard Remedies Wild Rose Beauty Balm back in 2014, I had already been using it for so long, that it felt like second nature. I visited their Head Office and eco-factory and made my own pot of WRBB to bring home. I am still asked about it regularly and it is still a much-read post, with good reason. In an industry where everything is available to the consumer and we are all too frequently sold four products to do similar things, Wild Rose Beauty Balm is the ultimate multi-tasker. 
First of all, what is it and what does it do? Wild Rose Beauty Balm is a multipurpose pot of lushness that can be used in a myriad of ways:
- Exfoliating but gentle cleanser – The WRBB comes with an Organic Muslin Face Cloth to gently exfoliate while it cleans your skin. It easily removes all makeup and SPF, meaning it can be your one-stop pot for everyday use or the one thing you grab when you’re travelling. It doesn’t emulsify and you will need a cloth to remove. This suits me perfectly, as I’ve never been the biggest fan of emulsifying cleansers, I like the massage compatibility of a balm too much.
- More intensive nourishing/softening treatment – You can apply WRBB, and then either leave it on for 20 or 30 minutes while you make a brew, watch SVU, or in my case, both; or you can sleep in it when you want an extra boost, or your skin is particularly dry and just in need of a little TLC.
- A bit of glow – you know all those glossy products that I’m obsessed with? This does the same thing. It tames stray hairs, eyebrows, highlights the top of your cheekbones and can obviously be used on the lips. To be honest, for me, it’s almost too good for that though, I whack it on my face, leave it on and let it do its thing.
What’s in it? What’s good about it? This is just an all-round good egg. If your skin is in anyway unhappy with you, dry, dehydrated, a little annoyed for whatever reason, in the winter or after being out in the sun, a little of this will see to it. And I do mean a ‘little’. Half a fingernail will do your face and neck with some to spare. Remember: grip not slip. Rosehip oil is considered a ‘dry oil’, such is its compatibility with the skin. It doesn’t sit on the surface of the skin, it absorbs beautifully. Wild Rose Beauty Balm is loaded with essential fatty acids and rosehip oil is a natural source of pro-vitamin A which in practice means if you apply this after you’ve exfoliated or used an acid, your skin will be like butter. In a good way. It’s suitable for all skin types but you will find it especially beneficial if you fall into normal-dry or slightly older skins. *waves*
