What Are Retinoids?
Retinoids are a family of ingredients related to vitamin A that speed up cell turnover, improve collagen production, and help regulate skin tone and texture - making them some of the most effective ingredients in skincare.
Delivering results at every step and strength at every level, our complete retinoid system gives everyone the confidence to experience the transformative power of vitamin A.
Featuring a trio of clinically proven formulas for every skin type and strength, these targeted treatments progress with you to refine texture, address multiple signs of ageing, and reduce fine lines, wrinkles, breakouts, and hyperpigmentation.

How do I know when to move to a higher strength Retinoid?
Please wait at least 4 weeks for your skin to acclimatise to any product. We recommend using your chosen Skin Rocks retinoid for at least 12 weeks before moving onto to the next strength, and only then if you have not experienced any issues.
Where do the Skin Rocks Retinoids fit within my existing skincare routine?
The Skin Rocks Retinoids should be used in the PM, after cleansing. Frequency of use depends on your skins sensitivity / tolerance (see above answer). If you are currently using an Acid product (e.g. AHA, BHA) we would recommend you use this and the retinoid on alternative days.
What is the difference between Hyperpigmentation Serum and Retinoids?
The Hyperpigmentation Serum is our treatment serum specifically for people with hyperpigmentation as a concern. It helps to fade dark marks, sun spots and red marks. The Retinoids are vitamin A serums that target fine lines and wrinkles, dullness, breakouts, skin texture and uneven skin tone. They target various signs of ageing, including hyperpigmentation, so while they do help with this concern, this is not their main or only benefit. Most people can benefit from using a retinoid, whereas you only need The Hyperpigmentation Serum if hyperpigmentation is a main skin concern for you.
If hyperpigmentation is your main concern, opt for The Hyperpigmentation Serum. Using the retinoids alongside this will help to enhance results. We recommend applying The Hyperpigmentation Serum daily in the AM and/or PM, and the retinoids 3-4 times a week in the PM.
If using both serums in the PM, apply The Hyperpigmentation Serum first, followed by Retinoid 1 or 2.If you mainly want to target signs of ageing, opt for our retinoids.
Are the Skin Rocks Retinoids suitable for rosacea prone skin?
For sensitive skins, we would recommend you use Retinoid 1, as this is a gentler formula. However, do not apply the product directly to areas of inflammation or increased sensitivity. It is recommended that you carry out a Patch Test, prior to introducing any new actives / products.
Do not go against the recommendations of a medical professional specific to you and your skin condition.
Are the Skin Rocks Retinoids safe to use during pregnancy/breast feeding?
The Skin Rocks Retinoids are topically applied, facial cosmetic products that are safe to use during pregnancy / while breastfeeding. All Skin Rocks products are developed to fully comply with both the UK and EU Cosmetic Regulations and undergo a strict independent safety assessment before they can be sold to consumers.
Compared to prescription-strength Vitamin A products/medications (often administered orally), the risk associated with topical cosmetics, including retinoids, is assumed to be minimal. To that point, there is currently, nor has there ever been, any regulatory requirement in the UK, EU or USA to label cosmetics containing retinoids as 'not suitable when pregnant/breastfeeding.
However, if you are worried about using vitamin A/retinoids, please wait until after pregnancy. While the industry is confident that topical cosmetic retinoids are safe to use while pregnant, the general medical consensus is, if in doubt, avoid.
