At Skin Rocks, we are proud to have and support an incredible team.
From educational experts, chemists, biochemists and advanced facialists, to retail staff and the many behind-the-scenes heroes that live and breathe Skin Rocks, everything we do is guided by the impact we have.
The impact our products have on people’s skin. The impact good skin has on self-confidence, and the impact of empowering our customers to make informed decisions about their skin. The impact we have on skincare professionals by elevating our Pro Partners’ businesses, and the impact we have on our people — from hiring inclusively and treating our staff with compassion and respect.
And of course, the impact we have on the world around us — with a team of people constantly considering new ways to reduce our environmental footprint.
This is why we continue to do what we do, and do what we love.
Giving back is at the heart of Skin Rocks,
and our Founder Caroline Hirons has embedded philanthropy into her work since the start of her career. Using her platform, voice and influence to drive meaningful social and industry impact, Caroline has championed causes that extend far beyond skincare — from women’s gynaecological health as Ambassador for The Eve Appeal, to founding The Beauty Backed Trust to support beauty professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Caroline has helped raise more than £1 million for charitable causes since 2020 while amplifying the voices of women, beauty professionals, and underserved communities and brought issues affecting the beauty industry into mainstream political spaces: including engagement at No.10 Downing Street around sector recognition and policy change.
At Skin Rocks, that same ethos shapes the brand’s approach to impact. We are proud BABTAC Patrons, highlighting our commitment to constructive change in beauty, as well as BATAC and CIBTAC-endorsed training for our Pro partners: promoting British beauty as a leader in responsible business
95% of cosmetic packaging is thrown away.
That’s why we do everything possible to minimise our environmental impact. Wherever possible, Skin Rocks packaging is made from glass or readily recyclable plastics, and when this is not possible — for example due to componentry complexity such as pumps — we will aim to provide a refillable solution.
We work with RePurpose Global to remove from nature a volume of plastic equal to that we produce — and are proud to partner with an organisation that collects and recovers ocean-bound plastic while creating jobs for underprivileged waste workers. Read more here.
Additionally, all our boxes and cartons are from an FSC-certified source and printed with vegetable-based inks, and we strive to encourage and educate our community on better waste practices. Recycling information on all Skin Rocks products is available online, but please do check against your local recycling requirements before disposal.
We recognise that carbon footprint is important to reducing and reusing methods and are continually exploring meaningful partnerships to offset this. To the best of our ability, we work to ensure our supply chain meets industry best practices, without compromising formulation or product performance.
