About the product

Formulated for experienced acid users, The Strong Acid is our strongest liquid exfoliant, combining the power of alpha-, beta- and polyhydroxy acids (AHAs, BHA and PHA) into one powerful formula.

This next-generation acid toner works hard to smooth skin texture, banish dullness and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Glycolic, lactic and mandelic acids work alongside shikimic and phytic acids to deliver AHA-powered resurfacing, supported by gluconolactone (PHA), while salicylic acid works to decongest the skin. Formulated at an optimally low pH for effective resurfacing, this is our most advanced exfoliating acid for experienced users.

Aqua (Water/Eau), Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Niacinamide, Propanediol, Sodium Hydroxide, Gluconolactone, Mandelic Acid, Shikimic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phytic Acid, Apple Cider Vinegar, Sodium Benzoate.

How to use

Use in the AM or PM, up to 3 times a week. After cleansing, dampen a cotton pad with the toner and sweep over a clean, dry face (or to specific affected areas), avoiding the eye area. Follow with the rest of your routine.

Do not apply directly to areas of broken skin.

Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Avoid contact with the eyes. If irritation occurs, discontinue use.

What percentage of exfoliating acid is in The Strong Acid?

The Strong Acid contains a total of 15% exfoliating acids, including a high percentage of AHA. The acids included in the formula are glycolic, lactic, mandelic, phytic, shikimic, gluconolactone and salicylic acids.

Is The Strong Acid suitable for sensitive skin?

The Strong Acid is not suitable for sensitive skin. It has been formulated with a high percentage of exfoliating acids and is designed for advanced acid users.

Can I use The Strong Acid if I have a darker skin tone?

Yes. All Skin Rocks products are tested on a fully inclusive panel (for clinical studies/consumer trials) representing all skin tones.

Can I use The Strong Acid with Retinoid 3?

You can use both The Strong Acid and Retinoid 3 so long as they are used in separate routines. For example, you could use The Strong Acid in the AM and Retinoid 3 in the PM, or use the two products on alternate nights.

Can I use The Strong Acid in the AM?

You can use The Strong Acid in the AM or PM (not both). However, you may wish to reserve exfoliation for the PM to avoid immediate sun exposure. Remember to always wear sun protection after using acids, as your skin’s sensitivity to sun damage can become heightened.

Can I apply the Skin Rocks Acids with my hands?

No. We recommend applying the product with a cotton pad.

Can I use The Strong Acid when pregnant/breastfeeding?

Yes – our acid toners are topically applied facial cosmetic products that are safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. All Skin Rocks products are developed to fully comply with both the UK and EU Cosmetic Regulations and undergo a strict independent safety assessment before they can be sold to consumers.

What's the difference between The Skin Rocks Acids?

Which Skin Rocks Acid you choose will depend on your skin concerns.

If your main concern is oiliness, congestion and/or breakouts, we recommend The Control Acid.

If your main concerns are texture, dullness and/or fine lines and wrinkles, we would recommend either the Gentle or Strong Acids.

If you are new to acids or are an irregular user of exfoliating acids, we recommend The Gentle Acid.

If you are a regular exfoliating acid user and/or prefer a stronger formula, we recommend The Strong Acid.
